DEAN MAY - National Goalkeeper Development Manager

Dean in his role as the National Goalkeeper Development Manager aims to develop a pool of high‐level Australian goalkeeper coaches by further developing and delivering a world‐class program of goalkeeper coaching courses for coaches of elite and talented goalkeepers whilst facilitating the development of community coaches. This position exists to expand the scope and reach of FFA’s Advanced Goalkeeper Coach Education programs specifically supporting pillar 3 (NPL) of the 3-pillar structure.

 

Some of his key objectives include

  • Increased quality and quantity of Advanced Goalkeeper Coaching Courses & other goalkeeper coach development opportunities.
  • Delivery of the FFA/AFC Advanced Goalkeeper courses
  • Develop advanced goalkeeper refresher courses to enable coaches to effectively keep up to date with technical trends

 

Dean holds UEFA “A” Licence, UEFA “A” Goalkeeper Licence and has recently completed the FFA Pro- Licence course.

 

Dean is also an active member of the AFC elite goalkeeper instructors, and has completed courses in Singapore, India, Bangladesh and Bhutan for AFC.
