Female Football on show at Avalon

It was a super Sunday at Careel Bay, as the Avalon Soccer Club held their inaugural Female Football Super Sunday celebrations.

The Manly Warringah Football Association club in conjunction with their Women’s Premier League team, held a day filled with celebrations and also promotion of women in football.

Over the duration of the day, nineteen teams hit the pitch in an action packed day of football, which included the club premier league side being the pinnacle of the festivities.

Alongside all the football action and skills sessions the club also had a BBQ, cake stalls, entertainment and also a special guest appearance by Sydney FC & Matlida’s star Chole Logarzo

Football NSW were present during the all female football day, with Development Officer Kevin Amaya visiting Careel Bay inspired by the clubs efforts

“Despite the dedicated week in which Female Football does receive within Australia, it’s fantastic to see clubs such as Avalon SC continue their promotion of women in football, ensuring the encouragement of not only athletes, but also the mentoring of coaches as well.”

Football NSW congratulated Avalon Soccer Club on a fantastic event, and wished the club every success throughout the rest of the season
