Member Federation Spotlight: Football NSW Community Nominees for rebel Female Football Awards

The rebel Female Football awards will be held on Friday, recognising the incredible contribution by both women and men in football at all levels of the game in Australia.

As well as highlighting work done by women at both Westfield W-League and Hyundai A-League clubs, it also shines a light on the unique stories and volunteers at Member Federation and grassroots level.

The awards are held in categories including Female Player of the Year, Female Coach of the Year, Female Administrator of the Year, Female Referee of the Year and Male Champion of the Year.

And today we’re looking at the nominees from Football NSW.

Female Player of the Year - Isabella Nimmo

Isabella is a positive role model on and off pitch and encourages and supports growth of female football at all levels within the community. She has played football since she was 4-years-old, including multiple years in mixed football. Bella currently plays WAA2 and is the captain of the team.

Female Coach of the Year - Isabella Nimmo

Showing her versatility, Isabella has also been nominated for the coach award for embracing the philosophy of fair play. She Is a positive demonstrates commitment to continuous self-development. Having completed the Grassroots and Skills Training Coaching certificates, and recently the Senior C Level Football Coaching Certificate, Bella is the most highly qualified coach in Beecroft FC, male or female.

Female Administrator of the Year - Denise Robinson

NWSWF merged with GHFA in October 2019 and Denise commenced in the position of Women’s Football Manager for North West Sydney Football Association (NWSF) and continued in her role as administrator for Koalas FC. Denise is also an AUS-NZ 2023 World Cup Bid Champion and in December 2019 was selected to represent NWSF on the FNSW Women’s Standing Committee.

Female Referee of the Year - Lottie Cabassi-Power

Just three years ago while still a teenager, Lottie took it on herself to organise a Female referee course at her school which brought in 10-15 female referees into her local branch at Football South Coast. She continues to support and mentor young women as referees and also coaches referees at Football NSW Referees Development Panel by going to games and offering feedback and coaching.
