FFA’s COVID-19 updates

Updated 13 May 2020 -  Game plan for resuming grassroots football in Australia

Football Federation Australia (FFA) have advised that, after considered discussion with its nine State and Territory Member Federations and assessment of developments and sanctioned grassroots football competitions is currently suspended.

The suspension applies to all sanctioned matches and competitions, including National Premier Leagues, FFA Cup, youth and grassroots football (including MiniRoos and futsal).

FFA welcomed the recent announcements by certain State and Territory Governments regarding the easing of COVID-19 related restrictions that may allow for a resumption in certain football activities, such as group training, prior to 31 May 2020 in their respective jurisdictions. We recognise that the position may vary across the different States, Territories and localities in Australia.

FFA supports these opportunities to return to football activities early, provided they are undertaken in line with the medical guidelines and restrictions that apply in the respective State or Territory. Read the FFA Circular for more information.
