Where can I get the latest updates on FFA Coach Development?
I want to get into coaching but don't know where to start?
In Coach Development, we offer both a community and an advanced coaching pathway that are designed to reflect the needs and demands of the two streams of players: those that play for Participation, and those considered Performance players.
- The Community Pathway
Community courses are short, easily-accessible and low-cost as well as being specifically designed for coaches/facilitators who look after Participation players. For more information on the community pathway, click HERE.
- The Advanced Pathway
The Advanced pathway involves longer and much more intensive courses that are specifically designed for coaches who work with Performance players. For more information on the advanced pathway, click HERE.
Do I have to complete a community course before entering onto the advanced pathway?
It is not a pre-requisite of entry into the advanced pathway to have completed a community course however it is highly recommended. The community courses give you a great introduction to the ins and outs of coaching and it will give you the tools and competencies you need to take that next step into the advanced pathway.
How do I get started?
Visit our 'Find a Course' page HERE to view all our upcoming community and advanced courses. Please note that more courses are now becoming available as we come out of COVID-19.

Where can I view upcoming CPD opportunities?
For more information on license revalidation, please view our page HERE.
In short, coaches are required to attain 100 CPD points in order to revalidate their license for a further three years. This can be done through activities such as attending coaching conferences and workshops, attending the next advanced course and also actively coaching each year.
How do I view how many CPD points I have already attained?
To view how many points you currently sit on, please have a look through the CPD points table that is provided on the license revalidation page provided below and if you feel you have attained the 100 CPD points, email firstname.lastname@example.org with the specific activities you have completed and we will be able to verify on our end as this is a manual process.
How has COVID-19 impacted license revalidation and final practical assessment timelines?
- ALL Advanced Licences will be extended to reflect the period of time that football has been suspended (i.e. 3 month suspension of football = 3 month extension of advanced licences).
- The two-year period coaches are given post-course to submit will also be extended to reflect the period of time that football has been suspended (i.e. 3 month suspension of football = 3 month extension of time to submit Final Practical Assessment).
If I am looking to get my overseas coaching licence recognised by the FFA, how can I do that?
You will need to complete a Form 9 - Recognition of Overseas Qualifications document where you will need to complete the form itself, include your overseas qualification CERTIFICATE and also a support letter from a club in Australia that you will be coaching with. Once this is completed, then please send through to email@example.com to process accordingly.
