As we celebrate Harmony Day and Harmony Round in the Hyundai A-League, we launched the first ALDI MiniRoos Settlement Program, which wrapped up last week in South-West Sydney.
The pilot program, funded by the Department of Social Services, aimed to assist the settlement of newly arrived communities by connecting them with existing grassroots football clubs via the games' flagship junior program, ALDI MiniRoos.
Hundreds of families from Iraq, Syria, South Sudan and Nepal joined young Australians in a series of game-based football activities hosted by the Southern Districts Soccer Football Association, which has ultimately led to many new player registrations for local clubs such as the Fairfield Hotspurs and Liverpool Rangers.
