Sydney recently played host to the Matildas’ 2020 AFC Women’s Olympic qualifying group matches against China PR, Thailand and Chinese Taipei where Football NSW member clubs and associations took to the field as respective flag bearers and MiniRoos half-time heroes in a bid to further promote the world game.
Blacktown District Soccer FA’s Glenwood Redbacks, Bankstown District Soccer FA’s Saints FC, Nepean FA’s Prouille FC, Canterbury District Soccer FA’s Russell Lea, Nepean FA’s GSAP and Macarthur Rams’ GSAP squads all took part in activations held at Campbelltown and Bankwest Stadium.
